What We Do

We offer consulting services for mold (mould) & other biological hazards inside the building environment.  We can assess the health risk for mold in your home, office, or work facility. This is important when staff or occupants are experiencing health effects.

We identifiy the mold and recommend steps to solve the problem. Illness investigations can also be done.

Types of sampling

• Mold air sampling (live mold / spores)
• Air sampling for other contaminants
• Mold surface sampling (tape, swab, bulk)
• Other biological hazards eg. bacteria

We are certified and use AIHA accredited laboratories.

Qualifications to Investigate Mold & Plan Mold Remediation

Our principal consultant has more than 30 years experience in health & safety, including indoor air quality & mold. She has an Honours Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Brock University, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Health from the University of Washington. She also holds a Master of Science Degree in Cell Biology of Mold / Microbiology from UBC. She took the graduate program in Industrial Hygiene (Occupational Health in the Work Environment) at the University of Washington. She is a 'Certified Industrial Hygienist', a 'Registered Safety Professional', and a Certified Safety Auditor.

The 'American Industrial Hygiene Association' (AIHA) has released a ' Position Statement on 'Mold & Dampness in the Built Environment' (April 5th, 2013, Revised 2020). This states that "Qualified persons should be utilized for designing and managing mold assessments, directing others who perform initial mold assessments, writing protocols for mold remediation, and conducting post-remediation inspections. This may include Certified Industrial Hygienists (CIH)...with the specific eduation, training, and experience in microbial contamination."
